Hightower Oil was founded in the 1940's by Floyd Hightower. He opened a service station across the street from the current location. The station also served as the local bus stop. They fixed flats and sold hamburgers. In the 50's Floyd Hightower relocated to the current location. In the 60's Floyd's son, Marion, came to work along side of his father. Toward the end of that decade they started selling oil. The business grew into a major repackaging distributor for Texaco. In 1992 Kenny and Patty Shipp purchased the business and began another phase of expansion. Currently a major building project is underway. After securing property located between established warehouses a new office and additional warehouse facility was planned. Construction began July 2002 with an expected completion of November 2002. This new addition will bring our total warehouse space to approximately 30,000 square feet. We look forward to serving our customers for many years.
